Miguel Ángel Belotto
Remigius
Miguel Ángel Belotto (Almansa, Albacete) is an actor, singer, and dancer. He began his training at age 7, studied at the Royal Higher School of Dramatic Art in Madrid, and graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (Glasgow).
His most recent work was in Aladdin, the musical, where he was part of the ensemble and also played the roles of Kassim, Omar, and the Sultan. Previously, he starred in Singin' in the Rain (Teatro Apolo, Madrid), directed by Àngel Llàcer and Manu Guix, where he played his first leading role, portraying Gene Kelly. He was associated with Antonio Banderas' Teatro del Soho Caixabank, where he was assistant director on the comedy On the Track, directed by Marc Montserrat-Drukker, and worked as a swing actor in A Chorus Line, directed by Banderas and Baayork Lee, alternating between the roles of Mike, Don, Larry, Al, and Greg.
His previous work includes: West Side Story (Teatro Calderón, Madrid, as an alternate for Bernardo and Swing); Mayumaná Rumba! (Teatro Rialto, Madrid, as an actor-musician); The Little Mermaid (MacRoberts Arts Centre, Stirling); Christ on a Bike (Edinburgh Fringe Festival); and Shrek the Musical and Pinocchio, a Musical Tale.
A passionate musical theatre enthusiast, he also translates and adapts librettos and songs from English to Spanish, as in Hedwig and the Damned Centimeter.
