Julio Morales was born in Santander, where he began his musical studies. He moved to Madrid to study at the Escuela Superior de Canto and attended vocal technique and interpretation courses given by maestros such as Victoria de los Angeles, Alfredo Kraus, Angeles Chamorro, Raina Kavaivanska, Felix Lavilla, Alberto Zedda, Celsa Tamayo and Enza Ferrari, among others.
He was awarded at the Francisco Viñas International Singing Competition and the Plácido Domingo Trophy for young Spanish musicians. He was selected by Alberto Zedda to perform in Semiramide, Scala di seta and Le conte ory at the Rossiniana Academy in Pesaro.
He starred in the world premiere of Haydn's opera Lo speziale at the Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville, with great success with critics and audiences.
He has been invited to participate in opera seasons at the Teatro Real in Madrid, the Gran Liceu in Barcelona, the Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville, the Mozart Festival in La Coruña, the Opera Season in La Coruña, the Teatro Campoamor in Oviedo, the Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid, the Palacio de Festivales in Santander, the Teatro Arriaga in Bilbao, the Teatro Pedretti di Sondrio, the Teatro Sperimentale di Pesaro, the Teatro Cervantes in Málaga, the Teatro Villamarata in Jerez...; performing roles such as Count Almaviva in The Barber of Seville; Tamino in The Magic Flute; Idreno in Semiramide; Marzio in Mitridate re di ponto; Albazar in Il turco in Italia; Edmondo in Manon Lescaut; Gastone in La Traviata; Duque de Lerma in Don Carlo; Nireno in Julius Caesar; Conte Ivrea in Un giorno di regno; Maese Pedro in El retablo de maese Pedro de Falla (at the Teatro de la Zarzuela, the International Cervantino Festival in Guanajuato and the Teatro de Guadalajara).
