Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

Ignasi Vidal began his career as an actor, working in theater, television, and film.

He excelled in musical theater, starring in some of the most prominent shows of the last twenty years.

In 2015, he made his directorial debut with the play "El plan" (The Plan), which he also wrote. That same year, it won the award for Best Off-Broadway Production of 2015, leading to its commercial release. The play toured for two years after a run at the Pavón-Kamikaze Theater. Its success with audiences and positive reviews attracted the interest of the production company Capitán Araña, who adapted the play for film. The movie premiered in 2019. "El plan" has been performed in numerous countries and translated into Spanish.

Since 2015, he has premiered his own plays, which he also directs, including *Memoria o Desierto* (Memory or Desert), *Pequeño catálogo sobre el fanatismo y la estupidez* (Small Catalogue on Fanaticism and Stupidity), *El cíclope y otras rarezas de amor* (The Cyclops and Other Oddities of Love), *Coexistance*, and *Dribbling*. Among these, *Dignidad* (Dignity) stands out, premiering in 2015 at the Teatros del Canal to considerable success. Following this, a series of productions of this play were staged in other countries and in different languages ​​(Romania, Panama, Ecuador, Colombia, Brazil, Mexico, and Argentina). He has directed several productions of it abroad, garnering critical and popular acclaim.

In February 2020, he premiered, as director, the musical *Antoine*, based on the life and work of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, for which he also wrote the libretto (winner of the Max Award for Best Newcomer Show). In July of that same year, he adapted and directed *No hay burlas con el amor* (Love Is No Joking) by Calderón de la Barca.

In 2023, he premiered the plays *Sobre el cararazón de las tortugas*, *Forever Van Gogh*, and Agatha Christie's *La Ratonera* at the Fernán Gómez Theatre, Centro Cultural de la Villa. His latest work as director and playwright is *Roca negra*, which premiered in January 2024.

He has also directed plays by other authors: *El Hambre* (2019) by Renato Gabrielli, *Perdidos* by Ramón Madàula (2021), and the second production of the musical *El Médico* by Iván Macías and Félix Amador (2022). As a playwright, he has a catalog of more than thirty plays.
